Getting excited to go anywhere can be tough in the cooler months, so the promise of a winter warmer goes a long way. The Transit Rooftop at Fed Square has heard our cries for a winter bar and brought a delicious all-day offering every Wednesday and Thursday. Cosy up with a decadent fondue selection and a cocktail menu that is sure to have you feeling warm inside. We were lucky enough to try this fondue menu at Transit when they first launched, and we can tell you that it’s a fun way to catch up with friends or have a date. Here are the details.

Fondue and cocktails at Transit Rooftop

The menu is available all-day every Wednesday and Thursday, so book in whenever you are ready to experience the limited menu and keep an eye on the weather. The Transit Hotel is located at Federation Square on Level Two of the Transport Hotel. Now let’s hear about the menu!

There are three fondue options and each guest gets an accompanying dessert… all this for $15! The fondue varieties are:

  • Raclette & Chardonnay – this Alpine classic is named the national dish of Switzerland for a reason. A concoction of melted raclette (that’s gooey cheese) and Chardonnay, added to cut through the richness and allows for a full-flavoured experience.
  • Black caviar, chives and house-made crème fraiche – house made crème fraiche for a nutty, tangy and slightly sour flavour, this sinfully delicious combination will keep you dipping and dipping.
  • Black pepper, dark chocolate and raspberry – a slightly tart flavour complimented by small bursts of earthy black pepper.

And if that doesn’t fill you up, remember to make room for dessert. This one you will not want to miss, and is the perfect way to end a creamy, decadent menu.

  • Cinnamon churros with velvety hot chocolate sauce

Will you head to Transit Rooftop Bar to sample this warm, creamy menu? Be sure to tag us in your photos and let us know of your other favourite winter spots so we can include them in our Melbourne food reviews.
