Designed for kids aged 6-12 years old, the Comedy Club for Kids by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival features a huge select of performers to entertain the kids. The club will be hosted by Josh Earl and a special Grandma character performed by Nikki Britton. This duo will give the kids plenty of laughs at every show. This year’s club is being held in the world-famous Spiegeltent at the Arts Centre, helping to really bring out the circus vibe for the show. Featuring a full band, your two hosts and over ten separate performers, the Comedy Club for Kids is sure to make the kids and grown-ups alike laugh out loud these school holidays.
When is this Melbourne school holiday activity?
The Comedy Club for Kids is running a lot of shows, so there is plenty of opportunity for you and the kids to attend a show. The first show is running on Saturday 3 April at 12:30 pm. A second show on Sunday at 12:30 pm. From the following Tuesday, 6 April, the show will run Tuesday to Sunday with each show kicking off at 12:30 pm until the last show on Sunday 18 April. Each show runs for an hour and is jam-packed with laughs and a huge date selection, so there is no reason to miss this year’s show.
Tickets and accessing the comedy show
All guests to the show require a ticket and all minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian as the Spiegeltent is a licensed venue. Tickets for both adults and children are reasonably priced; an adult ticket at $22 and $18 for children. After a tough year for the arts industry, the Comedy Club for Kids is a great way to help some of the performers start 2021 in a positive way.
Accessing the show and the Arts Centre Melbourne is best done by public transport, either by train with Flinders St Station right across the river. Trams are another great option. Any tram which heads down St Kilda Road will have you at the Arts Centre front door for the show this year.
