Carlton is full of bars, restaurants and incredible dining experiences, and now there is a new kid on the block. Ballers Clubhouse has opened its doors at 171 Elgin Street Carlton (previously Shaw Davey Slum) and it’s got a lot to offer. Ballers Clubhouse is the brainchild of Josh Lefers and Stephen Wools of the Superverse Group, alongside Simon Jones, founder of Fun Lab, and Chris Roberton, and has very aptly been described as an ‘adult’s playground on steroids’. Think traditional pub games with a modern technology twist, culminating in the ‘ultimate hospotainment experience’ that is going to make your next group gathering or work night out a memorable one.

Ball Pit Karaoke

Karaoke is an entertaining experience in itself, but what if you added thousands of balls in a ball pit? Well, that’s what you are going to find at Ballers Clubhouse, which is sure to add a hilarious twist to any night out as you belt out your ballads while falling into, playing and enjoying the ball pit. Choose a sing to sing and deliver it with a flourish in the ball pit enclosure with neon lights and DJ deck! Oh and there is also a DJ deck in the Karaoke area so if you’re lucky enough to book this space for a private function, this is where the party is sure to get started and have your Instagrammable moment.

What games are on offer at Ballers Clubhouse?

If you are anything like us, you love a bit of healthy competition when having a drink with friends. Ballers Clubhouse will not disappoint, and the range of games offer something for different skills and group size. You can find Neo Shuffle, 360 Ping Pong, Cool Pool and Social Darts.

Now without further ado, here is our pick of the best games you can find upstairs at Ballers Clubhouse.

Neo Shuffle

Neo Shuffle is a ripper upgrade to the age-old shuffleboard game. It’s been spiced up with 360-degree cameras that capture all the action, taking the gameplay to a whole new level. And the best part? You don’t need to worry about keeping score yourself – the game’s got you covered with automatic scoring next to your game.

You can thank Josh and Stephen’s mates at Good Time Tech for bringing this fun to your evening and can be played by up to eight of your mates playing together in multiple automated scoring games, like Black Jack or Curling.

360 Ping Pong

Amateur Ping Pongers might need to step it up for this one, as 360 Ping Pong is a whole other level of competition. As the name suggests, 360 Ping Pong features a table surface that is not flat but rather a 1.5m diameter pipe that separates the two players. With the Ping Pong balls bouncing off a three-dimension surface, the game gets difficult very quickly!

Social Darts

Darts never go out of style, but there are simply not enough bars that have darts on offer, so Ballers Clubhouse will be a fun bar to add to the group rotation. It may be social, but the dartboards at Ballers Clubhouse are beautifully designed with the added digital gamification through massive TV screens with addictive games such as Shanghai, Moon Landing and Killer. That’s right, the cameras will record exactly where your darts hit on the board to record your results in real-time.

The drinks and menu at Ballers Clubhouse

There’s no need to eat before or after your session at Ballers Clubhouse, as there are loads of menu times to fuel your competition and keep your game strong. The food at Ballers Clubhouse is exactly what you would expect from a upend pub, with a mix of substantial and light plates. The sliders are a crowd favourite as well as the pizzas which are easy to enjoy as a group, especially if you are stationed at a game and can cluster around the hot plates coming out. We can recommend the tacos, just be sure to order a couple! You can check out the Ballers Clubhouse menu, but keep in mind that it may vary slightly depending on whether you are attending the Ballers Clubhouse Melbourne CBD or Carlton venue.

The drinks at Ballers Clubhouse are such a novelty, so be prepared with your phone when you order one of their signature drinks as you will not want to miss the theatrics.

The Safe Cracker Cocktail – The Houdini’s Escape

Inspired by the legendary Water Torture Escape by Houdini, this unique cocktail is served in a miniature safe. Crack the code to free Houdini, trapped in ice, and unlock your old-fashioned reward. Conquer the challenge and celebrate with a free Baller signature shot! Yep, the mixologists have turned the Safe Cracker Cocktail into a game!

Smoky Skull Heist Negroni

Now that you have enjoyed the heart-racing thrill of the Safe Cracker Cocktail, you can indulge in the Smoky Skull Heist Negroni. It arrives in a luxurious black briefcase, enshrouded in a mysterious haze of smoke. But the drama doesn’t end there. The bar staff deliver the cocktail donning fake guns and meticulously guard this treasure as they deliver it to the fortunate patron, creating an air of intrigue and exclusivity. You will need to order this one for yourself to believe it!

Ok, we are heading back to Ballers Clubhouse Melbourne as soon as possible to order one of these incredible cocktails and challenge our mates to a game or two upstairs. Be sure to check out our other Melbourne what’s on content and Melbourne food reviews!
