When it comes to finding the perfect escape for your family, then look no further than a cosy and quaint farm stay in Victoria. A farm stay is the ideal way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, immerse yourselves in nature, breathe fresh country air and appreciate both the resident farm animals and wildlife. We recently visited one of the best farm stays in Victoria, in the beautiful Yarra Valley – Wiggley Bottom Farm. Check out our full review of Wiggley Bottom Farm in Victoria below!

Where is Wiggley Bottom Farm?

Wiggley Bottom Farm is located in Badger Creek near Healesville and is a short 60-minute drive from Melbourne. Located within the beautiful Yarra Valley, Wiggley Bottom Farm is best reached by car, with so much space for parking on site you can pull up right next to your accommodation. The farm is on 15 acres of rolling green hills with a dam for a very mobile gaggle of geese and horse paddocks surrounding the farm. Wiggley Bottom Farm is the perfect green oasis for a delightful family getaway.

What to expect at Wiggley Bottom Farm?

As far as a farm stay in Victoria goes, Wiggley Bottom Farm has a lot to offer guests both young and old. From incredibly friendly goats in the top paddock, sheep fresh from the shearer, the owners’ friendly dogs, horses being agisted and the aforementioned geese, it really has a variety of animals to meet. Little ones will love getting up close and personal with the many animals at Wiggley Bottom Farm, our son was impressed by the goats and neighbouring horses each morning, and by prior arrangement, you can feed the goats with owner Gillie.

In addition to the friendly animals, Wiggley Bottom Farm offers luxury accommodation on their Yarra Valley farm stay in Victoria.

There are three accommodation options to choose from at Wiggley Bottom Farm:

  1. The Apartment or The Cottage which both house 2 adults & 2 children, and can be booked for $350 p/n Sunday to Thursday, or $375 p/n Friday & Saturday or
  2. The Tiny House which houses 2 adults and can be booked for $250 p/n Sunday to Thursday or $275 p/n Friday & Saturday

For an added bonus, if your family includes young children aged 0-11, they stay free at Wiggley Bottom Farm. Wiggley Bottom Farm is also a pet-friendly accommodation, meaning you can bring your four-legged friend(s) with you. There are outdoor dog kennels, a dog run and dogs are even welcome inside the accommodation too, they simply ask that dogs don’t go on the furniture.

It’s a 5 minute drive from Healesville where you’ll find everything you need from parks and playgrounds, supermarkets and artisans shops, to restaurants and great bars. If you’re a vino lover, then a farm stay within Victoria’s most popular wine region should have you booking right now.

Wiggley Bottom Farm is a stone’s throw from many of the Yarra Valley’s most famous wineries, specialising in whites (Chardonnay), reds (Pinot) and sparkling wines (Blanc de Blancs). With wineries, cellar doors, craft breweries, gin distilleries and cideries within a 10-minute drive, Wiggley Bottom Farm is perfectly placed for the whole family. As well as visiting some of the breweries like Matilda Bay, we explored the many stunning green spaces in the area like Maroondah Dam, Donnelley’s Weir and Badger Weir.

In addition to the wineries, there is a perfect day out with the family waiting at Healesville Sanctuary, just around the corner from Wiggley. The Sanctuary is home to Australia’s indigenous wildlife and makes for a wonderful learning experience for the kids.
