Retail stores in Melbourne that sell bikinis

Have you experienced the disaster that is buying bikinis online? Yep, us too. Even the best bikinis in Melbourne can look different from body to body. There are simply too many variables to consider and you never know how it is going to look and feel on your body. Here is our list of retail stores in Melbourne that sell bikinis for you to try on, feel and hopefully love. If you are looking for inspiration, we suggest starting with these shops.

Bikinis at Myer

Myer is a first stop for most as all the brands are under the same roof, and you have access to dedicated swimwear shop assistants who can point you in the direction of the best cut and brand.

Some of the brands you can expect to find when looking for bikinis in Myer are:

  • Chloe & Lola bikinis
  • Gorman bikinis
  • Princess Highway bikinis
  • Roxy bikinis
  • Mosmann bikinis
  • Billabong bikinis

There are also some great maternity bikinis at Myer, including the Ripe maternity bikinis. Only need a bikini top at Myer or a bikini bottom? Then you can search and find a big range of separates and mix and match between brands. This is what I often do as I find that some brands don’t offer as much coverage as I need in the bust, but full coverage tops come with daggy bikini bottoms sometimes.

Here is an eclectic collection of Gorman bikinis at Myer.

Bikinis at David Jones

Myer and David Jones grow further apart in terms of their offering with every season, and so it’s important that you check out the bikinis at David Jones too! There is a bigger range from David Jones and a higher price point general speaking, as David Jones has secured contracts with high-end Australian and international designers. If you are looking to make a statement this summer or buy a bikini top that will be worn under a sheer top or dress as an accessory – you must head in-store!

Some of the brands of bikinis at David Jones are:

  • Zimmermann bikinis
  • Bec & Bridge bikinis
  • Aqua Blu bikinis
  • Camilla bikinis
  • Bondi Born bikinis
  • Faithful the Label bikinis
  • Maaji bikinis
  • Sunseeker bikinis

Our favourites have to be the Zimmermann swimwear and the bikinis by Maaji. They are so unique and the prints are gorgeous.

Bikinis at Seafolly

Seafolly bikinis might be expensive, but they are really the OG when it comes to on-trend swimwear. the quality is certainly there with most of the tops having boning, structure or sturdy enough to be dunked by a wave without losing your top. If you are looking for something quite specific or know what does and does not work for your body, you are going to find the Seafolly bikini categories to be very helpful.

You can search the Seafolly stores in Melbourne or the online store by selecting these bikini types:

  • Bandeau bikini top
  • Bralette bikini top
  • Bustier bikini top
  • Triangle bikini top
  • Halter bikini too
  • Fuller cup bikini too
  • More coverage bikini bottom
  • Hipster bikini bottom
  • Tie side bikini bottom
  • Brazilian bikini bottom

See how much easier that is when you know what options are out there? You can also search by colour, print, size and price range. In-store or online, bikinis for sale at Seafolly are always a fine choice.

Bikinis at Kmart

You would be forgiven for thinking that Kmart only dominates when it comes to Scandi-inspired homewares. You will find a fabulous range of bikinis at Kmart, across the Anko and Kmart brands. The best part is that these bikini top and bikini bottom separates are as affordable as $4.50 apiece, both block colours and prints. You can usually find Kmart swimwear available year-round, but there are far more options in the warmer months.

Online Bikini Stores that Ship to Melbourne

If you don’t want to go through the agonising process of trying on bikinis and know what you are after – then online bikini stores that ship to Melbourne is going to be your go-to. There are lots of brands that you can choose from, but we have narrowed it down to our favourites based on the quality of the bikinis and the styles and prints available. Remember, you always want to look at a bikini size chart before you place your order – even if you feel confident in what size you are, as there can be differences due to the manufacturer.

Brazil Born Bikinis

We absolutely love the range by Brazil Born bikinis and it has to be one of the best bikinis in Melbourne. You will find a good representation of cup size, colour and style – and can order easily online. We have found that the Brazil Born bikini bottoms are mostly a cheeky or high-cut style, but new ranges are introduced often so keep an eye out if you want to order a bikini bottom in every style. The Brazil Born website feature the Brazil Born brand and a few others, so jump on to get a feel for what designs you like most. We are loving this bikini cut and bold colours this season:

If you live in bikinis during summer, you will love the quick-dry technology that Brazil Born is known for, and there are also some sturdy metal clasps if you are a little worried about getting around with only a tie at the back.

We ordered some bikinis online and found the size chart to be more detailed than most – it even included in-leg and thigh measurements which we haven’t seen before!

Here it is for your reference:

XS S M L XL XXL
Bust 79-83 84-88 89-93 94-98 99-103 104-108
Waist 63-67 68-72 73-77 78-82 83-87 88-92
Hip 88-92 93-97 98-102 103-107 108-112 113-117
Thigh 51-53 54-56 57-59 60-62 63-65 66-68
Inleg 78 78 80 80 82 82

Peony Bikinis

Peony bikinis are another good online store option, and there are so many collections that you can check out. They feature some vintage-inspired prints and are also made sustainably. Despite Peony being available on The Iconic and NET-A-PORTA, it is actually quite affordable at about $90-$150 for a top or bottom. We really love the bottoms as the bikini tops by Peony are more bralette, bandeau and triangle – not great for a bigger bust!

Here are the bottoms and a top we really like from Peony. It is hard to get high waist bikini bottoms right sometimes, but these are a firm fit but won’t cut in and make it look too small for your hips.

Four Peony bikinis in a green, purple, orange and flower print.

What bikini styles are you loving? We are always looking for an excuse to shop online so let us know where to find the best bikinis in Melbourne. You can find out about other brands on our Melbourne Style archive.
