During the lockdown, we endured the agonising wait of watching CoConspirators Brewing Company take shape. When it finally opened in 2021, we were thrilled to visit and see how cool and unique this Brunswick pub was. Not only was the beer range on point, but there was the chance to order food and a dedicated kids’ play area. The team at CoConspirators Brewing Company cleverly named this Brunswick pub the CoConspirators Brewpub.
We love CoConspirators Brewing Company as it was created by two couples that met in a home brewing beer club, and it’s the perfect taste and destination for avid Melbourne beer nerds.
If you are ready to introduce new Brunswick pubs to your line-up, then here is our review of the CoConspirators Brewpub.
What to expect from the CoConspirators Brewing Company & CoConspirators Brewpub
Not only is this a great Brunswick pub, but the Coconspirator Brewing beer is actually brewed onsite. You can situate yourself within the warehouse-style pub and check out the huge steel fermenting vessels and order one of the brews fresh on tap. Seriously, it does not get fresher than that.
There is outdoor seating at the front of the venue on Victoria Street that is undercover, and then there is indoor seating and two large tables in the beer garden. We were lucky to score the beer garden and enjoyed the privacy of this open-air space with the umbrellas providing shade when needed.
The Coconspirator Brewing beer has some pretty iconic creative, and we love that the beer names have their own identity. Check out the full beer range to see what you like, but we can recommend the Hazy IPA and the American Pale Ale. They have new ranges released often so be sure to check out what’s on offer if you visit Coconspirator Brewery in Brunswick and order a six-pack if you love it!
Food delivery and BYO at CoConspirators Brewing Company
The crew at CoConspirator Brewing Company are sticking to what they know – beer! That means that you can choose from a range of dining options from surrounding Brunswick pubs, like Green Acre Pizza Bar. All you have to do is scan the QR code on the Coconspirator beer menu, order your pizza and they will deliver it to the pub. Why are there not more places like this? We are excited to see if there are new restaurants and pubs added to the menu soon.
There is also a dedicated area at the front for food truck Melbourne brands to pull up and serve pub-goers. When we were there, we were lucky to have Brisket & Pickel onsite who served us a great feed. We have also seen Beatbox Kitchen food truck and Pie Thief Melbourne. Visiting CoConspirator Brewing Company is an easier way to sample all of the best Melbourne food trucks as they come to you.
A fun kid’s area for the beer-loving parents
If you like finding kid friendly Melbourne restaurants, then you are in luck. The kid’s area at coconspirators was even better than we were expecting, and that was mainly because it extends into a seating area. There are four tables right next to the kid’s area so you can meet up with your child-less friends or make it a family get-together.
Our little one loved the wooded ship which had a steering wheel, three rows of seats and a low frame so he could easily get in and out of the ship. There were also two sensory wall features at different heights. This allows the little ones to stand and play with the wheels, magnets, draw, and other sensory activities.
There was also a foosball table! We haven’t seen this in a pub for a while, and while it is not necessarily ideal for kids… they definitely enjoyed the spectacle!
