Gorman Outlet – 92 Bridge Road, Richmond
Gorman is a Melbourne-made brand that has captured the attention of women who love bright prints and quality clothes. The problem is, Gorman can be quite a pricey brand due to their reputation. The Gorman outlet store in Richmond, also known as Gorman Surprise, is one of our favourite spots for outlet shopping in Melbourne. Here you will find clothing, outwear, shoes, swimwear, accessories and homewares. What you see will depend on when you go, but expect recent and older seasons and great variety in sizing. Unlike the full-priced Gorman Melbourne stores, Gorman Surprise Richmond is dense with the product so be prepared to have a dig around for your size. We hope you find something bold and beautiful you love at Gorman outlet Melbourne!
When we headed to the Gorman Surprise store last, I picked up a one-piece swimsuit that was 90% off as it was a second, but I was able to remove the mark. Don’t rule out the seconds as there are gems to be found. There are 16 Gorman stores in Melbourne, but only one Gorman outlet Richmond store. While Melbourne seems to invest in the infrastructure of DFO’s in Melbourne, there do not seem to be plans for a Gorman DFO outlet – but let’s watch this space.
Zimmermann Outlet Melbourne
Zimmermann Outlet – 94 Cubitt Street Cremorne
Zimmermann’s beautiful designs make us wish for an eternal summer, although the prices of their garments are not accessible to all. Fortunately, the Zimmermann Melbourne outlet is a studio warehouse environment with a number of racks containing recent and past seasons. One thing that struck us about the store is that there is a large volume of their signature silk dresses (wrap-around, floor-length and cocktail style), so if you love these classic styles then you will find lots to love at the Zimmerman outlet in Melbourne. This could be a great place to visit if you are looking for bridesmaid dresses, as there are so many dress lengths and colours to choose from. The Zimmermann outlet Melbourne store has shoes, bags, swimwear and some kid’s clothing which we didn’t expect.
Once again, it is hard to know when the best time to visit is – so keep this store in regular rotation so you can really score a bargain at this Cubitt Street Cremorne outlet! If you are someone who hangs out for the end-of-season Zimmermann warehouse sale online, we would wager there is a greater range and better bargains at the Zimmermann outlet in Cremorne. You will also be able to check out the factory seconds that are never released online, so this Cubitt Street Cremorne outlet is worth the trek.
Nike Outlet – The Nike Company Store
Nike Outlet – 134 Buckhurst Street, South Melbourne
Now you might be thinking that this Nike outlet store is at South Wharf DFO, but The Nike Company Store can be found in the suburbs of South Melbourne. The store is by invite-only, with new and old stock sold at a reduced price of about 20-30% off (with many saying it is at wholesale cost). So, how do you get an invite to this exclusive Nike outlet store? Nike employees are allowed to give visitor passes to the store, and certain gyms and clubs also incentivise members with frequent access to the store. The store was originally established to provide Nike employees and partners with current Nike stock at a reduced price, so it is worth the effort to get a pass to this Nike outlet store.
Wittner Outlet Melbourne
Wittner Outlet – 122/126 Swan Street, Richmond
It can be hard to find a quality pair of shoes without spending more than you would like. Wittner has dominated the shoe market for many years, with many of us clambering to our Boxing Day sales to grab a sale. The outlet Wittner Swan Street store is an unassuming store with a good range of heels, sandals and boots, many heavily discounted and in perfect condition. The timeless styles won’t always be there as they tend to sell well in full-priced stores, but you will still get a huge variety in different sizes. If you have a very large or very small shoe size, then you might be in luck at this Wittner outlet on Swan Street and walk out with brand-new shoes for next to nothing as these are the sizes that tend to stick around longest.
Simone Pérèle Outlet Melbourne
Simone Pérèle Outlet – 263 Brunswick Road, Brunswick
A great bra can change everything, and if you manage to find one then you probably bought one in nude, white and black. The problem is, quality bras do cost a lot. Simone Pérèle is a premium retailer that caters to bigger-bust women who struggle to find something flattering and functional. In Brunswick, you will find the Simone Pérèle Outlet near Princes Park with free parking close by. This is one of the lesser-known outlet shopping in Melbourne, and you might get lucky and walk away with some timeless bras for day-to-day or something a little more special. If you don’t usually have luck buying bras by Simone Pérèle or other retailers, maybe call ahead first to see that Simone Pérèle sizing and current stock is going to work for you.
lululemon Outlet Melbourne
lululemon Outlet – 30 Rupert Street, Collingwood
lululemon Athletica is a brand that is beloved worldwide, but boy is it pricey! Luckily there is a great lululemon outlet in Melbourne, and it is absolutely packed with leggings, sports bras, shorts, jumpers, coats, underwear, menswear, accessories – any item you can imagine. The store is 3/4 womenswear and 1/4 menswear, with a small section of full-price stock. The lululemon outlet store is broken into clear sections and sizes, and it was great to see that there is black stock in the store and it’s not just the bright seasonal items. There is not a lululemon DFO South Wharf store, so this is it and it will not disappoint!
I have been to this lululemon outlet in Melbourne many times and there is always new stock, much of it very recent. When I visited in March 2022, the sports bras were no more than $59, leggings were no more than $89, tops for as cheap as $30, and underwear and accessories were $14. There were some great jumpers, puffer vests and windbreakers too, although the puffer jackets were still $339 on sale – so prepare to spend some money.
The store is located on a one-way street and parking on that street is limited. Leave some extra time to find a park as it’s an industrial/office block area and not much parking around. if you have a big day of outlet shopping in Melbourne planned – the Zimmermann outlet and Gorman outlet is closeby so you can see these three in one day.

Beyond the dedicated brand stores above, Melbourne is also home to a number of Melbourne outlet shopping centres. Each of these centres carries different brands and so you can tailor your trips so that you are visiting the best centre outlet shopping in Melbourne for you. Here are some of the best and biggest ones to visit:
DFO South Wharf
Looking for the biggest DFO in Melbourne? This is the centre that most Melbournians and visitors know, as it is located right on the Yarra River and is an open-plan expanse making it a great day out. DFO South Wharf includes the usual suspects of brands, with a special mention to sass & bide, adairs, JB HI-FI Home, MICHAEL KORS and Pandora. Our favourite shop is the Kate Spade DFO South Wharf store as there always seems to be fresh stock.
If possible, try and tram it into DFO South Wharf as it is hard to get a park and you may be paying $30+ for the park. You can also have lunch or dinner at the many restaurants and bars in the South Wharf Promenade area, many of which are award-winning including General Assembly and Melbourne Public.
DFO Essendon
If you live in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, you may find DFO Essendon to be a closer journey than South Wharf. This outlet shopping in Melbourne is part of a bigger shopping precinct with home and hardware stores right next door. DFO Essendon is a circle shape so that you can make your way through the entire centre and see all the shops before coming out the way you came in.
This makes the shopping experience easier than South Wharf which is three levels and broken into different complexes – the parking is also free at DFO Essendon. Don’t plan to have lunch at DFO Essendon unless you are happy with Subway and other outlets of that variety. Our favourite retailers here are Oroton, HUGO BOSS and Ralph Lauren.
Spencer Outlet Centre
The Spencer outlet centre is by far the most central as it is located in the CBD on Spencer Street. This outlet shopping in Melbourne has perplexed Melbournians for some time, as it’s a large complex that occupies a large space without too much foot traffic. That said, the Spencer Outlet Centre stores speak for themselves and are home to some great discounted retailers. If you plan to make a day of it, you can visit the department stores and boutiques on Bourke and Collins Street, or cross the river to go straight to DFO South Wharf to continue your outlet shopping in Melbourne.
